Job Description

Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Buyer to join our high-performing industrial manufacturing client in Vancouver. This role supports the procurement team by managing the purchasing process for multiple locations across BC, ensuring the right materials and services are sourced efficiently and cost-effectively.

Responsibilities:

Review and process requisitions to ensure accuracy and alignment with procurement policy
Create purchase orders for a range of categories including services, capital expenditures, and materials
Source quotes, negotiating pricing and terms, and ensuring competitive bidding practices are followed
Resolve purchase order and invoice discrepancies, including managing parked invoices
Maintain vendor records and assist in onboarding and updates through the procurement team
Monitor compliance with procurement strategies and procedures
Identify process improvement opportunities across the purchasing department
Collaborate with department managers to meet procurement needs and timelines
Support data collection and reporting needs for the Procurement Manager
Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and external suppliers
Uphold all safety policies and demonstrate leadership in health and safety practices

Requirements:

3+ years of purchasing experience in a dynamic, high-volume environment
Strong working knowledge of procurement principles and contract negotiation
ERP system experience required
Diploma, certificate, or degree in Supply Chain, Purchasing, or related field preferred
Strong data analysis and reporting skills; Excel, PowerBI, SAP etc
Customer service mindset when working with internal stakeholders
Excellent communication and relationship management skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

Rewards:

$75,000-$80,000 + Benefits
