Job Description

6-month contract Back End Java Engineer role with an enterprise organization investing majorly into technology.

6-month contract Back End Engineer role.
Global enterprise organization.
Primarily in-office work environment in Vancouver, 4 days a week in office.

What & Why:
Due to investment in technology, our enterprise client is looking to add a backend java developer to their team that is responsible for customer authentication and data storage infrastructure. There are two key programs that these roles will be supporting, and the domains sit at the core of the customer experience, making the reliability and integrity of the systems supporting them critical to the business. This role encompasses the full development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and technical design through to production deployment and ongoing support. Core technical work centers on building scalable backend services and APIs using Java Spring Boot and MongoDB, with an emphasis on system integrations, data pipelines, and automated testing.

They are located close to rapid transit in newly renovated offices in downtown Vancouver and have an in-office work environment with 4 days a week in office.

You:
You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:

4-8 years of software development experience designing scalable systems and leading technical implementation, or equivalent.
Proven experience designing and implementing features with high-quality, well-tested code; track record of leading code reviews and providing constructive mentorship through feedback.
Demonstrated ability to decompose complex problems into implementable solutions; experience analysing how technical decisions propagate across distributed systems.
Experience designing and implementing complex integrations ensuring reliable inter-system communication; familiarity with presenting integration approaches and architectural trade-offs.
Experience designing APIs using Java Spring Boot.
Experience with a NoSQL database such as MongoDB.

Compensation:
This role pays between $60-72 per hour.
