About the Opportunity

Terminal Auto Body is looking for a full-time Auto Collision Estimator/Repair Planner based in Parksville, B.C. 

Reporting to the Shop Manager, you will play a key role in providing clear communication to customers about the repair process for their vehicles while ensuring estimates meet insurance and fleet standards. You will collaborate closely with technicians, insurance representatives, and the internal team to ensure efficient, high-quality repairs.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assessing vehicle damage and mapping unrelated or hidden damage at time of appointment
  • Educating customers on the repair process and offering additional estimates for unrelated damage
  • Preparing accurate estimates in line with insurance and fleet company standards
  • Collaborating with repair technicians to review judgment times, parts requirements, and reassembly
  • Creating and managing tech packs and maintaining detailed documentation and photos
  • Communicating regularly with customers to provide updates throughout the repair process
  • Managing supplements, pre-file reconciliations, and ordering required parts
  • Performing quality control checks and addressing deficiencies prior to vehicle delivery
  • Handling warranty claims from start to finish using established SOPs
  • Providing mechanical assistance and diagnostics when needed, including ADAS calibrations
  • Staying current with insurance policies, fleet procedures, KPIs, and industry training
  • Participating in morning meetings, monthly repair planning meetings, and continuous improvement activities
About You

To qualify, you will need strong automotive knowledge and at least 3-5 years of experience in the automotive, collision repair, or related industry. Experience working with insurance companies or in a service shop setting will also be essential.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  • Knowledge of glass repair and replacement
  • Mechanical and diagnostic experience, including ADAS systems
  • Proficiency with estimating software and general computer skills
  • Familiarity with insurance and fleet policies and procedures
  • I-CAR certification or willingness to obtain it
