This is an exciting opportunity to join an entrepreneurial, founder-led business where finance plays a key role in supporting growth, improving processes, and driving business performance.

Working closely with senior leadership, the Assistant Controller will help strengthen financial reporting, support business decisions, and build scalable financial processes as the company continues to expand. This role is ideal for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys working in a growing business, takes ownership, and thrives in an environment where initiative and adaptability are valued.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Controller with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting and close processes.
  • Oversee general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Support job costing, project financial reporting, and construction-related accounting activities.
  • Monitor project performance, budgets, and financial results to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis.
  • Partner with operational leaders to provide financial insights and support business decisions.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and improve accounting processes as the business grows.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting, improve efficiencies, and strengthen financial systems.
  • Support audit, tax, and year-end requirements.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of scalable finance processes.
  • Take ownership of day-to-day accounting priorities while supporting broader finance initiatives.

Requirements:

  • CPA designation required.
  • Strong experience in accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close.
  • Experience working within a privately held, entrepreneurial, or founder-led business is highly valued.
  • Construction industry experience and knowledge of job costing or project accounting are strong assets.
  • Experience with NetSuite is considered a plus.
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with financial systems and reporting tools.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage competing priorities.
  • A hands-on, solutions-oriented approach with a willingness to roll up your sleeves.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with operational and senior leadership teams.
  • Comfortable working in a growing business where processes and priorities may evolve.

Remuneration:

  • Base salary up to $140,000 + Bonus
