TERM/STATUS:
Temporary Full Time
SCHEDULE/HRS:
Monday to Friday 07:30 - 15:00// 37.5 hours per week
HOURLY WAGE: $20.00

THE ROLE:  

This position involves assisting with art related activities for adults with developmental disabilities. The role will require planning activities, sourcing materials, managing the art budget, facilitating programming and instruction of art classes. The successful applicant may also help with hosting an art show and coordinating with other community agencies to showcase the art and raise awareness of the accomplishments of individuals with diverse abilities. This position is subject to funding by Canada summer jobs. Position is conditional based on approval of application request by Service Canada.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

•    Post-secondary education or training in a related field (Fine Arts, Recreation Therapy)

•    Must be between ages of 18-30 at intake time, legally entitled to work in Canada, not hold another full time (30 or more hours) summer job.

•    Working knowledge or experience with people in the area of arts, recreation/leisure.

Standard requirements of the Art Instructor include:

•    Criminal Record Clearance

•    Medical Clearance

•    Demonstrated competency in English

•    Basic computer literacy- (asset) expertise in the development of online class content

•    Must be Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold Refugee status
