A leading high-performance multi-family kitchen cabinet manufacturer is looking for an experienced Administrative/Accounting Assistant. As the local BC market for kitchens, interior cabinetry and whole house renovation projects continues to evolve, builders are looking for well designed, attractive, high-quality cabinets that will be delivered on time and on budget. We believe that to reliably meet the expectations of developers, designers, builders and other industry stakeholders in this market, every aspect of the process needs to be optimized. The position of Administrative/Accounting Assistant is primarily to meet the administrative support requirements for a variety of departments including sales, accounting, production and engineering. This is an exceptional career opportunity for someone with solid accounting/bookkeeping skills and experience who has an interest in working in fast-paced environment while learning about the making of residential kitchen cabinets. 

We are looking for a proven performer with excellent communication skills and an upbeat attitude that thrives in a team environment. This position is responsible to assist management and all visitors to the company by providing polite and professional assistance, answering or forwarding inquiries, booking appointments/meetings, receiving gallery visitors and contractors, responding to phone and e-mail messages, helping to collate sales and marketing data, doing data entry for accounting, processing payroll, assisting the production team, and monitoring project progress from commencement to completion. As a helpful and positive presence in the workplace this position is a key member of our professional team and regarded as a ‘go to’ person that keeps projects flowing smoothly. 

To fully qualify for and be successful in this position you must have:

  • A minimum of 3 year’s office/administrative and accounting/payroll experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in cabinet or millwork production
  • High school graduation with completion of a post-secondary diploma in accounting/bookkeeping/office administration or related program/courses
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar programs
  • Expert ability using Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Excellent office, accounting, computer and data entry skills
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and design is an asset
  • Ability to generate reports/data  accurately and efficiently with attention to detail
  • Ability to organize and maintain a variety of information, data and records
  • Genuine desire to meet the needs of others; be proactive and contribute to a positive team environment
  • Ability to work well under limited supervision with good time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing circumstances and situations
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, organizational and people skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality 

This is a stable, full time job offering a competitive hourly pay rate and a good benefits program. The hours of work are Monday to Friday, day shift only.
