Month-end close, working papers, ASPE-based financial reporting, etc. Hybrid work schedule (Sr Acct can work 2-3 days/week from home). Robust total compensation package.

Our client has a 30+ year history and in that time has grown to become the global leader in their niche industry. The company’s brand is very well-established and reputable and attracts customers from all over the world. The company has strategic growth plans in place over the near 6 years. Headquartered in Vancouver, BC.

What- the Role:
Our client is searching for a new Senior Accountant.
The Sr Accountant will report into an Accounting Manager and will work alongside other Senior Accountants, Intermediate Accountants, and Junior Accountants. The overall accounting & finance team at this company is around 50 people, including this team focused on corporate reporting (ASPE) and month-end close, as well as folks working in AP, AR, FP&A, risk & compliance, procurement, financial systems, and project management.

This is a well-rounded role involving consolidations (15+ entities), month/quarter/year-end (Dec 31st year-end), budgeting & forecasting, routine and ad hoc analysis, tax, process improvements, and projects. Our client will be implementing a new ERP financial system this summer, and the team also uses various other automation tools (procure-to-pay system, expense management system, etc.) and plenty of Excel. SWIM will provide interested & qualified candidates with a detailed job description attached here.

Who- the Candidate:
We are seeking a designated accountant (Canadian CPA or International equivalent) with at least 4 years of progressive work experience within full-cycle accounting and financial reporting (ASPE).
  • Experience working in a complex multi-entity company with revenues of at least $100M and ideally $200M+ (in-house or public practice client portfolio)
  • Exposure to multi-national accounting (particularly the US) a is advantageous.
  • Public practice training (midsize firm or large multinational firm) is preferred, but not required.
  • Systems savvy is important in this role, especially as the company is undertaking a financial system upgrade this year. Experience with a financial system project is beneficial but not required.

How Much:
Robust total compensation package. Base salary in the range of $85,000 to $95,000- commensurate with work experience, relevant skillset, and accounting education. Where:
The corporate headquarters are in Downtown Vancouver. The building has an on-site fitness centre, and a warm and welcoming work environment. Hybrid- after onboarding and training, most folks on the finance team are choosing to work from home 2 or 3 days a week.
