Job Description
Organizational Profile
Scw’exmx Child and Family Services Society (SCFSS) is a family-centered Indigenous Child and Family Services organization, guided by nłeʔkepmx and syilx traditional knowledge and principles. SCFSS utilizes prevention and protection strategies with the collective goal to keep children with their families and communities. SCFSS recognizes historical challenges and is guided by traditional strength and wisdom to build family and community capacity in a monumental shift from protection to prevention.
About the Role
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Relations is responsible for the oversight and leadership of SCFSS’s services and programs. These programs seek to strengthen traditional skills within families; leverage family strengths; and create ongoing opportunities for family members to develop and strengthen the quality of life for children, young people, and families.
The Director of Relations develops an annual work plan in alignment with the SCFSS Strategic Plan to provide culturally reflective services and supports under nłeʔkepmx and syilx practice frameworks. The Director of Relations is responsible for overseeing the efficacy of the work plan, including program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programs, case management of families, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives. Emphasis is on the preservation, restoration, and reunification of children and young people with families, community, and culture.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced leader in the delivery of services who is committed to culturally informed polices, practices, and programming. The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree (in Social Work, Community Development, Indigenous Governance, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field) supplemented by a minimum of five years of experience working with Indigenous families and communities and a minimum of three years of multi-level leadership experience in a community service setting. This position requires a depth of experience in the collaborative design, assessment, and delivery of quality programming; the development and oversight of operational plans and service delivery; and a passion for the development of new strategies and initiatives to best support Indigenous families and communities. A combination of equivalent education and experience will be considered.
The annual salary range for this role is: $102,900 - $136,700.11.
