As a Senior Energy Coordinator reporting to the Superintendent of Reliability & Asset Health within the Maintenance & Asset Management team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient production of copper by optimizing its assets. Your responsibilities will include actively participating in hands on problem-solving for process reliability issues, supporting key performance indicators (KPIs) set by BC Hydro, and contributing to the development of reliability standards and energy-saving initiatives. Moreover, you will lead various aspects of electrical engineering projects, change management, and maintenance processes while adhering to safety protocols and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to asset lifecycle planning and maintenance efforts.
  • Maintain standards for electrical assets.
  • Develop energy saving initiatives.
  • BC Hydro Contract Deliverables- Refer to SEMP plan.
  • Sustainability strategy reporting, Carbon Road map & corporate reporting.
  • Lead all phases of E&I change management, including planning, design, construction. supervision, and commissioning.
  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations and develop corrective actions.
  • Refine predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Develop detailed plans for complex projects and conduct Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Lead small capital reliability improvement projects.
  • Stay updated on predictive technologies for early detection of equipment failures.
  • Electrical Engineering for capital and maintenance projects.
  • Contribute to Asset life cycle planning and continual maintenance.
  • Maintain plant standards for electrical assets.
  • Lead RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis) investigations and identify corrective actions to address root cause of electrical equipment failures.
  • Lead refinement of the mill predictive and preventative maintenance programs
  • Create detailed plans for unique complex jobs as per BC Hydro Recommendations.
  • Conduct FMEAs (Failure Mode Effects Analysis)
  • Lead small capital reliability energy saving improvement projects from start to finish.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
  • Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC)
  • Minimum three years' experience in an industrial setting
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience in mining is an asset.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office® Suite and AutoCAD; experience in Microsoft Dynamics AX is an asset.
  • Proven experience in outage coordination or related roles within the mining industry.
  • Strong project management skills with a focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial management.
  • P6 and MS project experience an asset.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including the ability to coach and mentor.
  • Previous experience with mobile mining equipment, Crushing Mills as well as site project experience.
  • Strong knowledge of different mining operation and maintenance processes and technologies
  • Previous experience working within CMMS software, experience with Maximo not mandatory but considered an asset.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate across several departments and disciplines.
  • Strong interpersonal, influential, and collaborative skills
  • Effective communication skills, written and oral.

Salary Range: $118,000 - $145,000

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
