Job Description

Horizon Recruitment Inc.  is currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager for one of our Lower Mainland clients.

 

Responsibilities:

 

 As the Purchasing Manager you will lead a large buying and planning team and will be hands on leading all tactical activities handled by the buying team. This role requires strong negotiation and leadership skills, as well as strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with sales and manufacturing teams. Previous experience working within a unionized Government environment is essential for this position.

 Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience leading a purchasing team
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to mentor a large team of buyers
  • Generate, maintain and verify daily Purchasing metrics
  • Identify, evaluate and manage contracts with raw material vendors
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working in a public sector environment

Remuneration:

  • $50-60/hr
