Job Description
As a key member of the site leadership team, the Finishing End Superintendent is responsible for exceeding targets in quality, cost control and employee engagement with a continuous focus on safety standards. This position is accountable for all activities conducted in the Finishing End of the Soda Creek Division including Planer, Dry Kilns, associated lumber yards, lumber handling and shipping activities. The incumbent will also be responsible for management of a pro-active safety program that supports the site safety program and goals; development of programs to maximize the margin from the products we produce; and developing and managing to approved operating budgets.
What We’re Looking For:
- A strong commitment to safety, quality, lumber recovery and production
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in all areas of Lumber Manufacturing
- Supervisory experience and strong management skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge and understanding of workplace safety systems and programs
- Ability to analyze data, rationalize solutions, and communicate plans
