Job Description
The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for community engagement and relationship development for the Faculty of Management. The Community Engagement Coordinator develops and maintains ongoing connections/relationships with external communities through community engagement initiatives, events, and partnerships.
- Develop and implement initiatives to enhance community engagement for the Faculty of Management, fostering collaboration between programs, courses, students, faculty, and local communities.
- Collaborate with faculty to help integrate community engagement components into courses, ensuring students gain practical experience aligned with academic objectives.
- Create and manage partnerships with businesses, organizations, and community leaders to identify opportunities for student involvement, projects, and WIL (Work-Integrated-Learning).
- Collaborate with Career Studio and student clubs to design and organize networking events, workshops, and seminars to connect students with industry professionals, promoting a dynamic learning environment.
- Assist WIL programs by liaising with various communities and engaging in ongoing WIL generation activity.
- Act as a liaison between the Faculty of Management and external stakeholders, representing the Faculty of Management at community events and meetings to strengthen relationships and identify new opportunities.
- Monitor and assess the impact of community engagement initiatives, collecting feedback and data to continuously improve and optimize programs. Prepare cyclical reports on community engagement initiatives for internal/external audiences.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with various members, including the faculty, colleagues involved in WIL, FOM, PD&T Coordinator, student clubs, Student Affairs and participate in a wide range of activities, including, student support; committee meetings and other initiatives; and professional activities.
This position may involve some travel and require attendance at community events outside of regular hours.

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in a relevant field from an appropriately accredited institution.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing community engagement programs, preferably in an academic setting. Minimum five years recent, directly-related experience in this area.
- Knowledge of business and industry trends to identify relevant opportunities for students and faculty.
- Ability to organize and execute events, workshops, and community engagement efficiently.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and project management skills.
- A passion for fostering community connections and enhancing the educational experience for students.
- Aptitude for working in intercultural environments with individuals from a variety of cultural backgrounds and programs.
- Ability to work effectively and build relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations.
- Relevant computer applications including office productivity software, database management, website management, relevant social media.
- Must possess a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and have a confirmed satisfactory driving record.
