About Orgaworld

Opening in 2017, the Surrey Biofuel Facility (SBF) will use the latest non-thermal waste-to-energy technology to convert organic (food and garden) waste into a renewable natural gas and high-quality compost material. The facility is fully enclosed with a state of the art air treatment system that ensures minimal odour impact on the surrounding community.
Designed to process 115,000 tonnes of organic waste a year, SBF will help Metro Vancouver achieve its regional waste diversion objectives under the Integrated Solid Waste and Resource Management Plan. The facility will incorporate world-class technology and best-in-class operating practices, and will be the largest of its kind in North America.
