Oak Bay Kiwanis Pavilion Health Care Society

About

The Kiwanis Pavilion is a residential care facility serving frail seniors, with a particular focus on caring for people living with dementia. We provide care through all stages, from the earliest to the most advanced. The facility opened in 1982 and is owned and operated by the Oak Bay Kiwanis Health Care Society. The Kiwanis Pavilion is licensed under the B.C. Community Care and Assisted Living Act and accredited by Accreditation Canada.

Our vision

The Kiwanis Pavilion specializes in the care of people with dementia. We provide care through all stages, from the earliest to the most advanced. Our goal is to create a warm, home-like atmosphere of understanding and support. Through the fundraising efforts of the Oak Bay Kiwanis Pavilion Foundation, we have been able to provide many comforts for our residents including secure therapeutic gardens, home furnishings and care equipment, and a van for outings.
The Board and Staff believe we should treat each other, our residents, families and volunteers with respect, integrity and openness. We encourage harmonious living by respecting religious, racial, ethnic and cultural diversity. Our team-based approach unites families, staff and volunteers in a spirit of cooperation. Together, we arrive at the most suitable decisions concerning the well-being of each resident.

We are proud of our facility, which has attracted the attention of dementia experts from around the world, and are eager to continue for many years to come.
