KidStart Mentoring Program

About

KidStart is a one-to-one volunteer mentoring program for children and youth facing challenges at home, at school, or in the community. We recruit, screen and train caring adults volunteers to mentor these young people. Through the gift of time, our mentors help them grow, thrive and connect with the community they call home.

Our screening process involves at least two interviews, three references and a police record check. Our Mentors are trained in first aid and receive ongoing training, support and supervision to help them be the best mentor they can be.

We provide KidStart for youth aged 13-18 in Vancouver, Richmond, Surrey, North Vancouver, Sea to Sky, Sunshine Coast, Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody. A professional referral from a social worker or probation officer is required for a youth to access this part of the program.
