Join the Yúustway Health and Wellness department in a leadership role dedicated to the holistic well-being of our Úxwumixw. This position is central to empowering our community by ensuring the delivery of respectful, safe, and high-quality health services from birth to end of life. You will be instrumental in upholding our snew̓íyelh and advancing our path toward self-governance in health, making a profound impact on the strength and wellness of our people.

What You’ll Do
  • Support the Director in the smooth daily operations of the Yúustway Health and Wellness department, ensuring alignment with the YHW Community Plan and organizational goals.
  • Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and team-building for the YHW Management Team of 5 Division Managers and the department Administrative Assistant.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager, Quality Improvement on monitoring, evaluation, and service design initiatives to enhance care for the Úxwumixw.
  • Guide the Management Team in financial stewardship, including budget preparation, adherence to funding agreements, and the completion of funder reporting.
  • Lead recruitment, staff development, and training plans in close collaboration with HR, fostering a culturally safe and supportive environment for all YHW staff.
  • Uphold the highest standards of client care, documentation, and strict confidentiality within all health services and Electronic Medical Records (EMRs).
  • Liaise with other Squamish Nation departments and external partners to support integrated service delivery and community engagement.

  • Exceptional knowledge and demonstrated experience in people leadership, management, and administration within a complex health or social services environment.
  • Proven skills in public health systems planning, budgeting, financial management, and proposal writing.
  • Strong ability in communications, engagement, and report writing to support Director-level briefings and departmental plans.
  • Experience in supporting quality improvement, staff development, and navigating health and safety protocols.
  • Cultural humility and respect for Sḵwx̱wú7mesh values, sovereignty, and self-determination.

Salary: $ 94,000 - $ 141,000

Candidates are typically offered compensation between the beginning to the midpoint of the range. We are committed to providing a fair and equitable package that reflects the value an individual brings to the organization.
