Our client is a Canadian-owned custom machine job and is one of the largest manufacturing facilities located in Richmond. There are about 250 people working at this job site.
We are currently looking for multiple Welders working on the afternoon or graveyard shift. This a full-time permanent position. Responsibilities
•you will be performing various forms of welding processes according to WPS, the manufacturing and Inspection plans and customer specifications.
•using MIG welder (or other appropriate equipment) to weld fabricated metal products in an efficient manner to maximize production.
•Producing strong penetrated welds that are smooth, non-porous, and consistent.
•Reading and interpreting drawings, welding processes and welding specifications.
•Welding to customer specifications with little to no immediate supervision.
•Operating manual or semi-automatic or fully automated welding equipment.
•Operating turntables, rolls, oxygen cutting equipment and hoisting and lifting equipment.
•Maintaining/producing a level of output that will minimize production delays.
•Communicating effectively with other workers to direct personal workflow.
•Operating the equipment in a safe manner and reporting hazards associated with the equipment or its operators to the appropriate Supervisor.
•Assisting other individuals in the area when needed.
•Cleaning and maintaining an orderly work area. Qualifications
•CWB welder qualifications or equivalent
•3 years welding experience required
•Ability to lift 50 lbs
•Experience using the following welding techniques and processes:
o Flat and horizontal position in GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding and Metal Cored)
o FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding Assets:
•Experience with medium to heavy metal fabrication
•Experience using the following welding techniques and processes: SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas)SAW (Sub Arc Welding) and GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding experience is considered an asset (may be required for some projects).
•Stainless steel welding and aluminum welding
•Forklift and overhead crane certification
•$33-38 per hour
