Vision for the Role:

The role of Warehouse Specialist reports to the Production Control Manager in conjunction with the Operations Team Leaders, and encompasses the day-to-day/peak period tasks for :  


•           Shipping / Receiving material

•           Managing and Controlling Inventory accurately

•           Warehouse organization

•           Assist and prepare material for scheduled jobs

•           Communicate with suppliers on orders

•           Prepare deliveries for Canada Post pickup

•           Miscellaneous tasks as assigned


This work involves the production of sensitive client brokerage and bank statements, trade confirmations and Year-end tax documents. There is an absolute need for timeliness and accuracy associated with the inventory that is directly connected to production service delivery. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate experience, focus, commitment and capabilities that clearly show their capacity to excel in a demanding and high performance work environment.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage and organize inventory in warehouse (maintain tidiness in warehouse)
  • Maintain minimum/maximum inventory levels
  • Pull inventory and organize packages for scheduled jobs as required
  • Develop in/out procedures for inventory control purposes
  • Schedule and follow up regarding transportation of packages to customer locations
  • General housekeeping tasks within the shipping/receiving area, as well as the shop area
  • Allocate necessary space for stock rotation including putting away material in correct location
  • Shipping packages domestically and internationally with completed required paperwork
  • Receive incoming packages and perform inspections of goods received
  • Safely operate various power equipment including, but not limited to, pallet movers and forklifts
  • Conduct physical inventory or cycle counts daily, weekly and/or monthly
  • Compile weekly and monthly client reports
  • Update all required checklists consistently and accurately;
  • Maintain work environment in an ordered, safe and neat manner;
  • Support change management/control processes and procedures;
  • Follow process documentation consistently and accurately;
  • Follow all processes and procedures consistently and accurately ;
  • Log all problems for tracking purposes;
  • Provide additional on-site support for production services during peak periods (month end, quarter end, year-end (and during Tax season – January to March each year);
  • All other duties as prescribed by the production control manager whom you will report into.

Business Skills:

  • Prior work experience with inventory management required
  • High attention to detail essential with a strong commitment to quality
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision in a busy environment
  • Working knowledge of major couriers – FedEx, Purolator, UPS, etc.
  • Working knowledge of shipping documentation, ESOM, etc.
  • Fluency in English is required
  • Good communication skills (written/verbal English)
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities under pressure
  • Excellent organizational abilities
  • Strong team player
  • Knowledge of inventory management system

Education and  Technical Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
    • 1-2 years warehouse/inventory experience required
    • Forklift operator’s license an asset
    • Forklift and Roll Clamp operation an asset
    • Sufficient knowledge of Microsoft Office

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time
  • Possibly shift work (morning and afternoon shifts)
  • Steel Toed safety boots required
  • Flexible schedule as this position may require weekends and late evenings
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
