Position description:

Since 1971, Burnaby Family Life has been offering programs and services to individuals and families in Burnaby. Over the past four decades, we've grown, we've expanded and we've helped thousands upon thousands of people to live a better life in a better community. Programs provided in counseling, parenting, pregnancy, English language skills, childhood literacy, childcare and licensed daycare. This position offers the help, assisting childcare staff.

Deliverables/Duties:

Volunteers will work together with staff taking care of children from 18 month to school age in a multicultural environment while their parents taking an educational and supportive program . Will assist program staff in setting up the room with different activities, playing with children, attending to the children's needs such as playing , reading together and interacting.

Qualifications:

Looking for 1 Farsi speaking volunteer and 1 Mandarin speaking volunteer
Experience working with young children is an asset.
Must be comfortable around young children ( 18 month & up)

Volunteer interview and criminal record check required before volunteer position starts.
Suitable for 19 year old and up.

Volunteer skills:

Day Care, Day Programs

Role is suitable for:

Adult

English as a second language (ESL)
