The Business and Community Liaison will work primarily out of the Coquitlam Campus
and will be required to travel locally to meet with industries, employers
and service providers.

The Role
The Business & Community Liaison role is to develop professional relationships with
community partners and employers in rural regions in BC including: Metropolitan fringe,
Okanagan Valley, Northern Vancouver Island and Northern BC to support and
coordinate client work placement.

Responsibilities

Community Liaison
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with agencies, businesses, training
institutions, and other stakeholder groups the 4 rural regions in BC;
• Build positive relationships with the Centre Manager at WorkBCs and other
organizations in rural areas of BC;
• Responsible for creating awareness of program among potential clients and
stakeholders as well as the recruitment of participants;
• Maintain records of contacts and activities, preparing regular statistical reports
regarding Community Relations activities.

Job Development
• Assist with participant needs assessments to determine eligibility for program and job
readiness;
• Conduct info sessions and intake interviews to determine suitability for program;
• Coordinate and schedule Employer Partner activities in the program such as guest
speakers on hiring practices, labour market information, mock interviews and hiring
fairs;
• Assist participants to negotiate and access direct job placements

• Assist participants with job search strategies and to prepare for scheduled interviews;
• Develop, maintain and monitor clients progress in secure management file;
• Assist employers with onboarding and the development of training;
• Assist participants and employers to resolve issues that may arise during work
experience;
• Provide coverage for team members including facilitation for online class sessions;
• Participate in Training Group's Quality Management System (ISO9001:2015).

To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need
    •Bachelor's Degree, or an equivalent combination of education, training and marketing experience; •Demonstrated experience building and maintaining partnerships with stakeholders; •Excellent knowledge of newcomer needs, barriers and settlement service providers,
    CLBs; •Experience working on a research project; •Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule based on meeting schedules, this may
    include some evenings and weekends; •Excellent computer skills: MS Office Suite, Adobe Professional Suite, and the use of
    online-on demand meeting and webinar applications.
