The Vendor Manager, Human Resources and Mobile Technologies manages the portfolio of spend associated with benefits, learning, health services, recruitment, financial services as well as mobile technologies and accessories.

Position Overview:

As a Vendor Manager (VM) within our corporate Procurement team, you will be responsible for project management, negotiating, drafting, administering and managing the full range of contracts associated with the Human Resources and Mobile Technologies portfolios of products and services.

Additionally, you will be responsible for end to end sourcing activity - RFI, RFP, RFQ for assigned categories. You will also play an integral role in ongoing supplier governance and relationship management, ensuring that appropriate total value of ownership is achieved through the life of the contractual agreement.

    •Support strategic sourcing efforts from start to end (determine spend baseline and sourcing opportunities, market research, identification of suppliers, creation of RFx, analysis of proposals, recommendation on solution, contract negotiation and execution, performance management) •Establishing and reporting to an annual savings target •Lead major contract proposals and conduct negotiations for standard and non-standard products or services •Lead operationalization of vendor contracts within TELUS business and supporting units •Manage TELUS and supplier compliance to contract terms, TELUS established standards and other preferred supplier programs •Support in supplier performance reviews •Engage with Legal team to ensure contract templates optimize support sourcing efforts •Provide spend category intelligence and analytics •Ensure that appropriate decisions are made based on facts derived from analytical reasoning using both extensive internal and external data sources •Work closely with internal stakeholders, product and sales team •Analyze operational activity and interface with internal stakeholders to inform changes in business strategy


Required Knowledge and Skills:
    •Solid general procurement knowledge •Sound knowledge and category experience across the human resources and mobile technology categories
    •Strong contract creation and execution skills •Strong business and financial acumen - including proven experience to lead supplier negotiations and structuring deals (including establishing contract terms and conditions (i.e. pricing, performance management and SLA development), drafting legal agreements, risk mitigation and skilled negotiations •Proven experience developing and managing successful relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders at both working and senior levels; •Strong cross-functional team management and facilitation skills, with both internal and external stakeholders, with ability to lead cross-functional teams towards desired outcomes;
    •Ability to maintain perspective and confidence in face of difficult contract negotiations, tight deadlines and client expectations
    •Superior quantitative and analytical skills; statistics knowledge and experience is highly sought
    •Understanding and experience in data manipulation, sorting and analysis tools (Ariba, Excel, SAP, etc.)
    •Ability to create unique solutions to manage and/or analyze data to support decision making
    •Ability to work effectively with all levels within a large organization;
    •Good project management and presentation skills;
    •Strong organizational and time management skills;
    •Excellent verbal and written English communication skills;
    •Strong problem solving skills;
    •Attention to detail;
    •High degree of business ethics and accountability;
    •Leading through influence skills;
    •Good working knowledge of MS Office suite;
    •Team player and "can do" attitude

Required Education and Experience:
    •Bachelor's Degree •Minimum 5-7 years equivalent experience •Proven experience developing and managing successful relationships with vendors •Relevant experience working in a fast-paced, complex environment •Experience with eSourcing tools such as Ariba •Experience with SAP •SCMP designation is a definite asset •MBA degree is a definite asset
