Summary:
  • The Chief Digital Officer (CDO) Team leads digital change by contributing directly to the development of customer and business transformation across the organization. UX/UI Designer is an advocate for our customers: listening to their needs and understanding how our products are used in the real world. Using this knowledge to balance business and engineering needs, the designer plays a key role to the success of lean startup practices, and in pivoting BCAA to a delivery approach for digital business centered on design thinking .
  • User Experience/User Interface Designe synthesizes passion for elegant design, empathy for people using technology and combines a sense of business needs to create innovative software user interfaces and engaging product experiences.
  • The successful candidate has real world experience creating product solutions based on user centered design principles and can conduct research, create prototypes, and perform usability tests effectively. In this role, you'll participate in/perform user interviews and observational research and interpret research data to create: viable solutions and interactive prototypes. You will participate in/conduct user tests to improve and validate a design, take ownership for key features in a product line, and remain current on user research methods for generating and improving designs.
  • As member of digital lab delivery team the Experience Design Team, an agile multidisciplinary team, you will work on creating compelling, intuitive, and innovative user-centered experiences across web and mobile products. You'll be involved in every step of the process for designing products & experiences - researching the best possible solutions, creating visually compelling stories & assets, creating user flows and wireframes, designing mockups and pixel-perfect screens, and prototyping experiences. The successful candidate will a lso work with experience design team to deliver and sustain the end-to-end customer experience.
  • This role works effectively with a wide range of teams across organization - from business leaders to delivery teams - driving product success without breaking the self-organizing culture that makes lean and agile delivery organizations successful.
  • This position emphasizes an entrepreneurial spirit, independent and creative thinking, and demonstrates leadership through collaboration.


Key Responsibilities

UI/UX Responsibilities:
  • Own design projects (think platforms, new mobile apps, admin tools, and other highimpact
    projects)
  • Work directly with our product manager(s) and engineers, delivering them product specs
    and assets
  • Work with Product Management to understand the customer problems, functional requirements, and backlog priority
  • Work directly with other designers to envision and iterate on concepts
  • Contribute to high-level strategic decisions with the rest of the team
  • Compile research, create user flows, wireframe solutions, and design pixel-perfect screens
  • Maintain UX specifications and standards across suite of web and mobile products
  • Build collaborative, interdepartmental relationships to fully understand business needs
  • Translate business requirements and engineering specifications into customer-focused user
    interfaces
  • Conduct or facilitate design and usability research
  • Lead discussions of design proposals, from big ideas to essential details, with compelling
    communication skills
  • Create comprehensive user interface design documentation: wireframes, storyboards, flow
    charts, etc.
  • When necessary, generate interface prototypes for testing and feedback with the
    appropriate level of fidelity (lowfi, midfi and hifi).
  • Understand time constraints to efficiently balance projects
  • Cultivate usability and design standards while performing essential functions
  • Identify opportunities to experiment and apply new technologies and interaction patterns to solve customer problems.
  • Connect directly with customers to gather feedback to inform design decisions
  • Part of the User Experience/Customer Research team in the development and evaluation of problems, personas, usability studies, and testing.
  • Along with aligning with BCAA design style guides, establishing and maintaining new design style guides.


Visual Designer Responsibilities:
  • Consulting with the project team and determining visual design preferences and expectations.
  • Designing original graphics with unique colors, shapes, and typography fonts, from presentations to web design.
  • Refining the output of paint and hand-draw applications by using visual design software.
  • Enhancing digital images, including the application of contrasts and gradients.
  • Submitting visual design concepts for brainstorming and approval in a timely manner.
  • Meeting with the project team for feedback and editing designs, when required.
  • Collaborating with IT developers in aligning visual designs with website functionalities.
  • Developing prototypes to uniformly integrate logos and brand images to other products and platforms, including social media.
  • Keeping track of advancements in visual design technologies and applications, as well as industry trends.
  • Immersed in the Human Centred Design process including the production of visual assets
  • Along with aligning with BCAA design style guides, establishing and maintaining new design style guides.


Qualifications:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Interactive Design, Human Factors, Visual Design, Product Management, Visual Design, Experience Design, Marketing Interactive Design, Human Factors/HCI, Visual Design or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Experience:
  • 5 years experience (Minimum of 3 years of UX web and mobile design experience producing engaging, usable, and effective design solutions using user-centric principles; 2-3 years of experience as a Visual Designer, or similar.)
  • Experience designing responsive web and/or mobile apps
  • A solid design background with an obsessive eye for interaction and visual details
  • Deep experience with the Salesforce Lightning Component Framework, Lightning Apps and Community Cloud
  • Ability to think at a high level about product strategy and vision
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability toward the products you create
  • Strong start-up or small company background
  • Very Proficient with wireframe and visual design tools (e.g. Sketch, InDesign, OmniGraffle, Photoshop,Illustrator)
  • Ability to clearly articulate your design decisions
  • A strong portfolio of innovative design work & visual design examples that demonstrates proficiency in interaction design
  • Proficiency with design tools (e.g, Sketch, InVision, Illustratror InDesign, Photoshop, Axure, Omnigraffle)
  • Experience mentoring designers and leading complex projects.
  • Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency with rapid prototyping platforms (e.g, InVision, HTML/CSS, Flinto, Hype)
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as HTML and JavaScript would be advantageous.
  • Experience connecting directly with customers to gather feedback to inform design decisions
  • Enterprise software design experience in a global context
  • The ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clear and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of organization
  • with the principles of design thinking, and lean and agile software delivery.
  • 1+ year working in or with lean and agile software delivery teams
  • 1+ years working with design professionals, within a design thinking process, including as an assistant in the user experience design process (preferred).
