Our client is a dynamic financial services firm, headquartered in Langley, BC. Due to internal promotion and company growth, they are looking for a junior mortgage underwriter or assistant mortgage underwriter to join their team. This company is team-oriented, supportive of growth, and dedicated to giving back to the community of Langley.

The Underwriting Assistant will contribute to the day-to-day operations of the business by providing administrative and clerical services to management, brokers and staff.

Your tasks will include:

  • prioritizing files,
  • following up on outstanding conditions,
  • document collection,
  • data input,
  • and other tasks as assigned.

Throughout the year you will also be required to coordinate calendars, prepare marketing packages, manage travel schedules including bookings and shipping tradeshow materials.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Following up with mortgage brokers regarding outstanding documents
  • Mortgage file data input and processing
  • Assisting with prioritizing and organizing client files for review
  • Assisting the underwriting team with loan approvals
  • Ensuring all filing systems are accurate and up to date
  • Schedule Management
  • Other tasks as assigned


  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent ability to work with numbers
  • Exceptional Customer Service skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Minimum 2 – 4 years of administrative experience


  • A Business or Financial Services Diploma OR mortgage or real estate experience
