The Trade Compliance Specialist is key in ensuring that Trade Compliance policies, procedures, and other requirements for our products and materials are adhered to and followed. This includes supporting day-to-day export and import activities, while ensuring the accuracy and completeness of trade compliance documents and data, and supporting Trade Compliance projects and initiatives.
This is a fixed term contract position until January 2024.
Job Description Duties and Responsibilities- Perform Free Trade Agreement qualifications
- Contribute to Trade Compliance improvement initiatives and projects
- Assist with establishing formal programs to ensure ongoing Trade Compliance effectiveness and compliance
- Support day-to-day operations as needed
- Determine trade data, such as HS codes, FTA applicability, and other government agency requirements
- Generate Trade Compliance documentation, responding to requests for HS Code determinations and other general Trade Compliance queries
- Audit Trade Compliance service provider invoices
- Liaise with Custom Brokers and other external partners to resolve clearance and other shipment issues as needed
- Administer Trade Compliance systems and tools.
Knowledge and Qualifications- Post Secondary Certificate or Diploma, preferably in a Supply Chain discipline
- 2 years' experience in a similar role preferred
- Ability to work with and/or provide timely and accurate information to internal stakeholders
- Highly detailed with the ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines
