Job Summary A great opportunity to take the next step in your career The Ministry of Forests (MOF) is the province's land manager, responsible for stewardship of Provincial Crown land, cultural and natural resources. MOF is one of six ministries jointly responsible for managing the natural resource sector and balancing economic opportunities with environmental stewardship. The ministry's regional operations are structured in 23 districts within eight regions under the senior leadership of three geographically based Assistant Deputy Ministers and eight Regional Executive Directors.
Reporting to a Scaling Supervisor, other bargaining unit supervisor or excluded manager, the Interior Check Scaler contributes to ensuring complete and accurate scaling is performed by industry in compliance with the Forest Act, Forest and Range Practices Act, various regulations, provincial policies, and regional/district procedures, and ensuring that accurate revenue is returned to the Crown. As a designated Forest Officer under the Forest Act, and the Forest and Range Practices Act, the position carries significant legal authorities.
Job Requirements: - Valid BC Scaling Licence with valid Interior Grading Endorsement
- Valid BC Drivers Licence
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Two(2) or more years' in waste and residue within BC.
- Two (2) or more years' experience in scaling experience within BC.
Provisos /Willingness statement(s):
- Must be willing to wear a uniform representing the Scaling program and the Ministry as required. (Under review)
- Willing to work in adverse weather conditions including driving in winter conditions
- Willing to operate a variety of equipment including quads, electronic equipment, and accompanying computer applications

About this Position: Flexible work options are available;this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week as per the Telework Agreement.
