Who we are…

The Pacific National Exhibition is an iconic institution in BC, famous for bringing generations of people together to celebrate and build memories. This 113-year-old, non-profit organization has an annual operating budget of approximately $58 million dollars and generates revenue through four activity streams:  the 15-day annual summer Fair which averages 800,000 guests each year, Playland amusement park which welcomes 375,000 guests annually including Fright Nights, Winter Fair that runs for 10 nights during the holiday season, year-round events including concerts, trade shows and film, cultural and community events.  The fourth activity stream is park care and facility maintenance.  The PNE is proud of the work it does at Hastings Park and has a vibrant team that is passionate about events, guest experience and being the best, we can be.

What will you DO this year?

In your role as a Temporary Tattoo Artist, your primary accountabilities will be to:

  • Providing quality application of detailed tattoo designs
  • Providing professional guest service, and working with guests of all ages
  • Operating sales terminals and debit machines
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy workstation
  • Maintaining and cleaning various equipment
  • Working well in a fast-paced environment
  • Performing other duties and following safety procedures as required

What else?

  • Previous work experience in a customer service-related role; comfortable interacting with guests face-to-face and ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Artistic background, such as education, work experience and/or interests in the arts
  • Previous airbrush experience considered an asset.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to function both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work outdoors, in various weather, and spend a large part of the workday walking and standing.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts from June – September including daytime, evenings, weekends, and late nights.
  • Successful candidates must undergo a Criminal Record Check.
