As a Technical Coordinator,
you will report to the Director of Facilities Maintenance and Operations and provide technical advice and guidance to both FMO managers and clinical leaders. This technical guidance will be directed to infra-structures of the Electrical Distribution systems. The focus will be on building systems operations, maintenance and cyclical renewal. This will require interfacing with a variety of engineering consultants and other facility management business lines.
Your comprehensive experience in the building systems operations and maintenance field will prepare you to provide technical advice through verbal and written communication, which includes structured technical briefing notes for senior leadership. Your technical advice will provide management with informed decision requirements, lead to technical discussions and action plans. These plans will contribute to the following: creating solutions for issues with building system which impact business continuity of patient care activities, maintain/sustain living capital, maintenance infra-structure renewal lists, and prioritize risk level.
Your key responsibilities involve the following:
•Manage the planning, organization, implementation, and control of the Electrical Distribution systems at all sites. This will involve planning and managing annual capital plans for infrastructure upgrades. •Participate in the planning, organizing, scheduling, implementation and control of various computerized maintenance systems and programs, electronic systems, designated projects, and major system installations and expansions. •Ensure comprehensive documentation of equipment, wiring and hardware installations are maintained through methods such as: writing and updating standards and manuals, overseeing receipt and implementation of supplier and manufacturer documentation. •Review specifications and contract documents for Construction projects at all acute and community leased space. •Oversee the efficient operation of Facilities Maintenance & Operations computer CAFM (Computer aided facilities management) systems by troubleshooting problems, providing training and by acting as a resource to Facilities Maintenance & Operations staff. •Liaise with the Information Services and Telecommunications Departments in the development, co-ordination and installation of data and voice communication systems hardware. •Liaise with Architects and Engineers regarding technical specifications and performance of regional construction projects and initiatives.
We are seeking an individual with a recognized formal trade's apprenticeship certificate or equivalent. This will be supplemented by successful completion of courses in a supervisory role. You will have three years related experience in an institutional setting, inclusive of two years' experience in a maintenance supervisory capacity.
