Protective measures for COVID-19

At Motion, the safety of our employees and our clients is paramount. As such, we're taking several steps to reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19. These include:

  • Ensuring safe physical distancing at all locations and warehouses.

Who you are

We are adding a Team Lead in Comox; a manager of people, operations, and process who is incredibly organized and motivational. Ideally, you have exposure to the day-to-day workings of a multifaceted-retail or a repair-service environment. 

This isn't your typical store manager role. It's a hands-on opportunity to learn our business and our industry and be involved in every aspect of what we do, ensuring your team has all of the support and coordination they need to do their best work. From retail sales to rehab sales support; from warehouse to repairs, you will learn the functionality and benefits of our products and services - and lead the team performing in these areas every day. You will foster a collaborative and goal-driven environment, support the strategy to improve operational efficiencies and roll up your sleeves to make things happen.

What you will do: 

  • Foster a collaborative and supportive environment with a focus on team wins. This team is ready for an onsite leader to support, mentor, and guide them. You will influence collaboration across a small team, removing roadblocks, managing pressure points, ensuring transparency and open communication. You will lead daily huddles, motivating and empowering the team to exceed expectations. 
  • Administration. You will assist the manager in the overall development and execution of the strategic plan. You will support the data and reporting function, maintain our client database, order office supplies, and meet the overall needs of the store and office.
  • Support sales and coordinate equipment handling for rentals. You will assist with, maintain and exceed overall store sales performance targets. You will confirm rates, follow up on leads, and be aware of overdue agreements; You will ensure all equipment is secure and delivered on time, following up with customers to ensure on-time delivery and equipment condition. 
  • Execute storefront duties. You will respond to customer inquiries by phone, email, and in-person, acting as a Motion ambassador. You will ensure the needs of our clients are met and that we fulfill our promise to make life accessible. You will be a point of escalation when needed.

What you bring:

  • Education and experience. You have several years of progressive experience in a retail, branch, or service environment leading up to management. Exposure to repair service management or warehouse environment is an asset.
  • A collaborative management style. You have strong people leadership skills. You know how to motivate and inspire a team. You will roll up your sleeves and pitch in where needed. You have exposure to the end-to-end recruitment process, strong business and financial acumen, including inventory control and experience in managing all facets of a company - administration, finance, HR, marketing, sales, and operations.
  • Communication. You have experience working in customer-facing roles and leading teams with outstanding conflict management skills. You love building and fostering relationships with internal and external clients. You have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and can explain your ideas and thoughts in various ways to get your point across. You are comfortable communicating on the phone, by email, or in person.
  • Organization. You are an expert at juggling multiple projects, stakeholders, and deadlines, all while keeping your cool. You can prioritize, manage and organize a myriad of tasks as they come up throughout the day, be it from clients or other team members. You can quickly change your course of action to address changing needs and requirements while still delivering on deadlines. 
  • Technical Skills. You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and are comfortable working on a computer, navigating various software and databases. Experience with Excel would be considered an asset. 
  • Empathy and Respect. You can engage our clients in a meaningful way to ensure that their individualized needs are met at every appointment. You approach every interaction with your clients with respect, professionalism, and empathy. 
  • Additional Must Have Requirements. You can lift up to fifty (50) pounds in order to move or repair equipment and devices. You have a valid driver's license and a clean criminal background check and are bondable.
