Job Skills / Requirements

The Tactical Mobile Unit (TMU) is responsible for fulfilling all aspects of the Security Program from performing physical security presence, surveillance, technical analysis, security projects, security assignments, and other administrative tasks. Tactical Mobile Operations (TMO) is an elite team of tactically minded individuals whose main objective is the prevention and efficient elimination of criminal activity in the Lower Mainland, Metro Vancouver and beyond.

As a TMU team member, you must have experience in many different proactive crime prevention program methods, including video surveillance, emergency response, and surveillance operations across the Lower Mainland and the province. The TMO team is unique within Paladin Security, and this challenging role directly translates into advancing your career in the security industry. This position requires that all officers be prepared to provide an exceptional level of customer service, leadership, and support to both the client's internal and external customers as well as other Paladin employees.

Typical Duties:

• Client facility alarm response.
• Surveillance and patrol of all of this clients' facilities.
• Dispatch as well as work with first responders (Police/Fire/Ambulance).
• Provide a physical visual presence in Metro Vancouver, deployed strategically.
• Write and update incident reports for various security incidents that occur during your shift, as well as CAR documents for any damaged properties.
• Troubleshoot any Security Officer issues (placement, sick leave, etc).
• Working alone
• Provide leadership to and supervise a team of Security Officers for temporary coverage, special events, and projects when required
• Complete any other tasks given by the Security Command Centre, TMO Supervisor, the Surrey Campus Site Supervisor, or the Security Programs Manager.
• Provide preliminary technical analysis to help troubleshoot security systems
• Perform access control for client facilities. Grant or deny access based on established protocol.

Responsibilities:

• As a first responder you represent Paladin and the client, you must handle all incidents in a professional and calm demeanor.
• Maintain a good rapport with all Paladin Employees and client staff, while being cognizant of the confidential information being handled as well as being vigilant to potential intruders.
• Alarm response should be effective, concise, and within designated time frames.
• Respond to accident calls and emergencies efficiently. Escalate problems that cannot be resolved by you. Report any issues, with full details to the Security Command Centre in a timely manner.
• Complete any other tasks given by the Security Command Centre, TMO Supervisor, the Surrey Campus Site Supervisor, or the Security Programs Manager.
• Familiarization with Surrey Campus, all of this client's facilities, and surrounding areas.
• Build rapport with surrounding businesses to heighten the level of security in the jurisdiction.
• Required to work any shift of any rotation on an on call/as needed basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must be able to work all shifts, 12 hours daytime and graveyard as well as any day of the week based on the 4 on 4 off, 3 on 3 off rotation and flexibility of hour changes with due notice.
• Ability to lead, plan, organize, delegate and problem solve.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Experience in handcuff training/use and self-defense, optional training provided as needed
• Computer skills, 40+ WPM, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Google.
• Must communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
• Must demonstrate professionalism in all situations.
• Must prioritize based on severity of the issue.
