Our client a full-service construction and development company is currently hiring for a Site Superintendent to lead a multifamily residential project in Squamish. The company itself is headquartered in Squamish and they are one of the larger and more established businesses in the region. The vision of this company is to create residential communities that reflect the beauty and functionality of their West Coast surroundings. Creating homes that are architecturally unique and constructed to the high quality standards is of paramount importance to our client.
Your new role
You will be responsible for the daily site management of a large scale residential development in the Squamish area. This development will be comprised of a variety of duplexes, townhomes, and a multi-story apartment building. Your key responsibilities will include daily oversight of the construction site to ensure the project is well organized, quality standards are maintained and the project is kept on schedule. You will assist in the creation of project schedules, material take offs, supervising and coordinating site trades, as well as undertaking other site management duties. You will also receive support from an Assistant Site Supervisor and Lead Carpenter for the duration of the multi-year project.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be someone who has 5+ years of experience as a Site Superintendent, and you will have previously run multifamily residential projects to completion. You will have expert technical knowledge, and the ability to interpret and discuss construction drawings, current building practices, and BC/municipal building codes. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills are a must as you will be managing inspections with external consultants and working closely with District of Squamish representatives. Many of our clients sub trade contractors are repeat vendors so you must also place a high level of value on maintaining excellent professional relationships.
