About Mount Milligan MineLocated approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant.
Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.
Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
About the OpportunityWe have an opportunity for a Superintendent, Mine Geology to join our Mount Milligan Mine operations site.
This is a camp-based position with a schedule of 4 days of work and 3 days of rest.
Reporting to the Manager, Mine Operations, the Superintendent, Mine Geology’s key objective is to develop, manage, and support the Mine Geology team to deliver accurate and quality information to support the management and extraction of the mineral resource. The Superintendent is directly responsible for collaboration with Mine Operations, Mine Engineering and Mill Metallurgical departments, specifically geologic input to mine plans, geo-metallurgical projects and optimization of mining and milling processes.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
To qualify, you must have ideally 15+ years of progressive experience including production and ore control geology (preferably open pit), and a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience. A Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Earth Sciences or Geological Engineering is required.
