We are seeking a Superintendent
for our BC Region
district office to work on projects in the Vancouver Lower Mainland
•Supervises and coordinates all construction activities including manpower, materials and equipment
•Creates, maintains and executes the project plan, including critical path, and schedule and ensures compliance with budget
•Ensures the implementation of PCL’s Safety Program to create a safe work environment throughout the jobsite; adhere to and integrates all safety related planning, procedural and record keeping requirements
•Depending on project size, supervises, directs, coaches and trains assistant superintendents, field coordinators, surveyors, students and hourly foreman and staff
•Ensures project materials and workmanship meet the project quality standards and design requirements
•Maintains the project’s Daily Job Diary
•Obtains necessary information from engineers, designers, inspectors, municipal/provincial authorities and owners
•Red Seal Carpenter ticket (or equivalent) or 2 year college diploma in a construction related discipline
•5+ years of proven commercial construction experience
•In-depth knowledge of the construction industry, specifically construction specifications, building materials, methods and procedures
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word and Outlook and internal operational systems
•Ability to lead and assess trade performance on the job
•Ability to apply basic engineering principles to construction challenges
•Ability to visualize the entire project and anticipate constructability issues and embed solutions in the construction plans and schedules
•Ability to schedule, monitor and forecast resources for optimum efficiency
