Structural Steel Fabrication Plant Manager:  Harvey 2425 

We are currently seeking a self-motivated, customer focused and highly efficient individual, for the position of Structural Steel Fabrication Plant Manager.

The Plant Manager is primarily responsible for strategic fabrication planning and execution efforts to facilitate safe, efficient, and quality product delivery from the facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in development and maintenance of reports tracking shop hour performance against shop estimates
  • Oversee and maintain weekly Production Plan resource loading schedules and reports, with mitigation strategies if necessary
  • Identify and analyze bottlenecks in the production process, and create viable solutions focused on developing improvements
  • Accountable for reporting on plans, strategies, progress, successes and challenges in regards to production management
  • Supplement and support project management resources as required, ensuring that the fabrication team has the necessary tools to execute their jobs safely
  • Seek to find supplemental providers that can fill any production gaps, providing Supreme with a comprehensive delivery model

Education/Work Experience:

  • 10 years plus of overall industry experience in a Structural steel and miscellaneous metal fabrication facility
  • 10 years of direct experience as Plant manager, including planning / scheduling, production controls, and project management
  • 10 years in a supervisory position, able to lead and guide production personnel to solutions
  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in a relevant field preferred
  • Journeyperson certification in a relevant trade will be considered, coupled with a demonstrated aptitude towards improvement of production techniques, either through LEAN training certification, or an equivalency
  • Professional drive, seeking on-time delivery of product to customers
  • Change management skills, anticipating upcoming challenges and navigating a path through them
  • Strong computer / software skills, able to use production scheduling (MRP) databases, excel, and optimize the reporting capabilities of the position

 

This is a fulltime position

Salary is open, depending on current working experience
