Strategic Sourcing Manager - Mechanical

Avigilon’s solutions have been installed at thousands of customer sites, including school campuses, transportation systems, healthcare centers, public venues, critical infrastructure, prisons, factories, casinos, airports, financial institutions, government facilities, and retailers.

Responsibilities include:
  • Develop and execute Avigilon's sourcing strategy and reduce total cost of acquisition for Mechanical commodities
  • Conduct supplier analysis, evaluate potential suppliers, and manage the overall supplier qualification process
  • Develop and create global sourcing plans, requests for proposal, and other sourcing documents
  • Continually lead productivity, quality & delivery improvement initiatives to reduce total cost of ownership through negotiation, consolidation, vendor development, and concurrent engineering
  • Negotiate and implement sustainable supply agreements supporting Avigilon’s business, financial & legal requirements
  • Develop and implement a sourcing strategy for managed commodities including competitive landscape, technology direction, supplier analysis, development and selection, and pricing strategy
  • Represent sourcing on new product core teams ensuring rapid prototyping, design for manufacturing input, and optimum vendor selection
  • Work on project and/or assignments as required, using approved guidelines
  • Worldwide travel of up to 10%

  • Extensive knowledge of Mechanical commodities (metals - diecast, machining, finishing, sheet, tooling, hardware; plastics; connectors and cable assemblies; product packaging; etc)
  • Mechanical Engineering degree required
  • PMP certification or training is a plus
  • Minimum of 10 years of in depth supply chain experience with proven abilities in: Sourcing, Negotiation, Contracts, Project Management
  • Ability to independently assess, define and solve complex supply chain and procurement issues with attention to detail
  • Experience in global supplier and market analysis
  • Cross-functional team experience in a matrix environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools & ERP Systems
  • Demonstrated project management skills in driving business results
  • Some Mandarin language proficiency beneficial not required
