The mission of the Architecture Department is to develop the creative vision and comprehensive design drawings and documentation for our world class and aspirational environments in our stores, distribution centres, support offices and concierge centres

As the Vice President, Architecture you will lead and motivate the teams responsible for developing our world class design concepts and transforming them into functional documentation to be used for the build. You will play a pivotal role in setting the architectural strategy at Aritzia while overseeing its application in the development of our creative design concepts & layouts, interior designs, and technical design documentation ensuring our spaces are both aspirational and functional while along the line working with & managing relationships with all external engineers and consultants. Once the drawing set is complete, you will then act as the gatekeeper of specifications throughout the build process, being a liaison across the department, ensuring the design vision is brought to life. As the Vice President, Architecture, you will:
¢ Develop the architectural strategy for our world class stores, distribution centres, support offices and concierge centres
¢ Work with the creative teams to help facilitate the development of all design concepts
¢ Oversee the functional design of our spaces ensuring all practical elements are considered ensuring the optimal layout and function of the space is achieved
¢ Oversee the planning, procurement, and placement of decorative interior design pieces for each project
¢ Bring the designs to life through the development of detailed architectural drawings for all projects
¢ Oversee the hiring and managing of engineers and consultants throughout the development of the architectural drawings for all projects
¢ Oversee the coordination of all drawings and the validation that they are accurately executed on in the build ensuring the creative, functional, and technical intent is realized
¢ Partner closely with our Marketing, Merchandising, Information Technology, & Retail teams to ensure all cross-functional needs are addressed for each project
¢ Work with the appropriate Business Support partners to lead the departments in support of corporate objectives, while enabling progressive career development and an incredible employee experience

o Understanding architectural drawings & plans
o Architectural drawing / modelling software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, etc.)
o Value engineering practices
o Building codes (asset if knowledge is in both USA & Canada)
o Partnering with MEP consultants
o Industry standards and resources
o Understanding sustainable building practices
o AIBC Licensed preferred
