The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is one of two branches of government that provide oversight for the beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis industries in the province. The LDB is responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis, and operates the retails brands BCLIQUOR and BC Cannabis Stores.

Corporate Operations at the BCLDB includes our Corporate Loss Prevention and Real Estate departments. Real Estate manages all activities related to the leasing, construction, renovation, and facilities management of all new and existing LDB facilities, included head office, distribution centres, and all BC Liquor and BC Cannabis retail locations. The Corporate Loss Prevention department ensures the security of all BCLDB assets through physical security management as well as an investigative team.

About this role:

The Store Planner is responsible for ensuring capital build projects are planned consistently. The Store Planner will have the most current and quality prototypical plans of which to plan and enable execution and meet customer expectations.

The position works on the development of new and/or renovations of existing BC liquor stores, BC cannabis stores, liquor distribution centres, cannabis distribution centre and the head office.

A criminal record check is required.

Successful candidates must be able to travel overnight within the Province of British Columbia and have a valid BC Driver's License.

Position requirements:

Education and Experience:
  • Degree or diploma in design/ architecture or related discipline and a minimum of 2 years of recent related experience*

*Recent related experience must have occurred within the last 5 years and must include the following:
  • Experience utilizing AutoCAD to design and draft prototypical drawings e.g., designs, blueprints architectural layout etc.

Preference may be given to candidates with any of the following:
  • Store planning of a retail environment e.g., working with planograms, preparing and analyzing cost of fixtures, labour, décor etc.
  • Experience in retail merchandising.
  • Experience in the beverage alcohol industry.
  • Experience working for a government organization.
