The Business Transformation & Operations (BTO) organization is responsible for the network and information technology (IT) operations; application development and support for business systems; and technology services for TELUS team members and customers.Position Overview:
The Business Technology and Operations (BTO) team is looking for you, a dynamic, enthusiastic, driven, and bright individual with a proven track-record of successful delivery.
As a Senior Strategy Manager, you will play a leadership role in strategy formulation and the execution and delivery of key complex transformational projects across BTO and TELUS. You have a proven ability to structure optimal approaches to address complicated business problems and goals, collaborate with key stakeholders to roadmap, develop, and execute on initiatives with high complexity and/or business impact. You demonstrate a high degree of autonomy and can develop strong partnerships with many groups within the organization including marketing, operations, finance and corporate strategy. You are able to use your skills and experience to mentor and develop fellow team members, ensuring their success is your success. You bring top manager thinking and understanding to framing, articulating and delivering information and presentations to varying audiences including senior executives. You are a strategic thinker, proactive, continually learn and improve, accountable and reliable, and a high-achiever.Responsibilities:
Developing the business unit strategy, including:
•Supporting the development of the annual Strategy Check presentation in support of yearly planning cycles
•Thought leadership on key market shifts and trends for impact and opportunity, as well as recommendations on dealing with competition
•Developing frameworks and analytical models to provide key insights and identify improvement opportunities related to reliability, productivity, security and performance
•Articulating and enhancing intra-organization and enterprise-wide processes and workflows
•Leading project management of selected strategic initiatives and assessments, capturing status updates and projected/realized benefits
•Identifying opportunities to improve BTO performance, and develop the best practices and metrics required to support transformational initiativesQualifications:Required Knowledge:
•Knowledge of the telecommunications and IT industry
•Strong business acumen and knowledge of corporate strategic planning processes, financial and budget management processes, business case development and investment prioritization, KPIs and scorecards
•Financial modeling and forecasting, multi-team sensitivity analysis, and strong understanding of divisional and consolidated financial statements
•Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word) Required Skills & Abilities:
•Excellent problem-solving and decision making skills with the ability to base decision making on sound data and evidence, financial and market assessment
•Strong business acumen skills, with ability to communicate and present at executive level

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills

•Highly developed personal planning and organizational skills; ability to effectively set priorities; negotiating, initiating, planning and organizing activities; ability to meet deliverables and work with minimal guidance Required Professional Designation/Certification:
•Business degree preferred, with related experience
•MBA an asset
•Management consulting experience an asset Required Experience:
•5-10 years of business experience in strategy development, analysis and program execution
