About our Client

Our client, a boutique firm providing tax and accounting services, is looking for a Sr Staff Accountant to join their high-performing team on a permanent basis. The Staff Accountant will support month-end activities like account reconciliations and journal entries as well as assist with personal tax preparation and corporate tax. This client offers a great collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in any inquiries relating to their bookkeeping
• Complete bank reconciliations, cash flow reports and financial statements
• Process accounting transactions and post to GL
• Prepare personal and corporate tax returns
• Process Client payroll as needed
• Prepare government remittances for payroll, GST, WCB, and corporate installments

Qualifications

• 4 years experience with tax accounting, an asset if you have experience working in an accounting firm
• Review Engagement experience is a must
• Audit experience is an asset but not mandatory
• Must be detail-oriented
• Experience leading a team is an asset
• Working on Compilation, Review and Audit engagements
• Preparation of corporate tax returns, personal income tax returns, and trust returns
• Experience managing and training staff
• Assist with tax planning and research as required
• Communication with tax regulatory agencies for ongoing client matters
