Fraser Health has exciting opportunities to work casual as a Speech Language Pathologist within the Fraser Health regions acute facilities in Abbotsford, Burnaby, Chilliwack, Langley, New Westminster, Port Moody, Surrey, and White Rock, located in British Columbia.
The Speech Language Pathologist provides assessment, speech language and dysphasia diagnosis and prognosis, treatment plan and intervention development, implementation and evaluation, and patient consultation and education to enable the patient to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes in communications & dysphagia function.
Build on your education & career experience as you:
•Provide speech language assessment for a patient's communication, speech and swallow functional abilities, needs, and goals. •Analyze patients' needs, establish speech language and dysphasia diagnosis and prognosis and develop an evidence-based, outcome-focused intervention strategy. •Implement interventions in accordance with established treatment guidelines and educate patients and caregivers regarding self-management, health promotion and injury/disability prevention. •Participate in the inter-professional care planning process for patients by ensuring the plan is established and implemented effectively, updating care plan and intervening as appropriate and collaborating and communicating on issues that may impact the care/transfer/discharge plan. •Delegate components of treatment to speech assistants by providing work direction and verbal and/or written instruction, ensuring the appropriate transfer of function and quality patient care.

•Current registration with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC (CSHHPBC) including applicable College certification(s). •Knowledge of speech language pathology theory and practice within a patient and family centered model of care. •Knowledge of the CSHHPBC standards of practice and practice guidelines for clinical practitioners.
