We have an exciting opportunity for a Speech Language Pathologist with a real dedication for delivering compassionate care to join our Rehabilitation Team at Fraser Health.

In this role, you will perform screening, assessment, diagnosis, intervention and follow-up for adults with swallowing, communication, and related disorders.

Build on your education and career experience by:
    •Providing speech language assessment of the patient's communication, speech and swallow functional abilities •Reviewing records, gathering information, interviewing and identifying patient and speech language pathologist expectations •Analyzing the patient's needs, establishing speech language and dysphagia diagnosis and prognosis and develops an evidence-based, outcome-focused intervention strategy •Implementing interventions in accordance with established treatment guidelines as well as evaluating and documenting the effectiveness of interventions •Educating patients and caregivers regarding self-management, health promotion and injury/disability prevention •Participating in the interprofessional care planning process and collaborating with patients and their families/care givers in developing the care plan

This role is a relief full-time position based out of multiple hospital sites located in New Westminster, Port Moody, Maple Ridge and Burnaby. The city of New Westminster, is located on a hillside overlooking the Fraser River, is the oldest incorporated city in BC, was once the provincial capital, and remains an urban hub of the Lower Mainland. Port Moody is a vibrant waterfront community with a unique small-town feel in a metropolitan setting. Maple Ridge is a perfect balance of urban sophistication and country splendour. The new Golden Ears and Pitt River Bridges puts Maple Ridge in the heart of regional transportation corridors. Burnaby is centrally located within the rapidly growing metropolitan area of the Lower Mainland. It is among Vancouver's most attractive suburbs - a major urban centre with many beautiful lakes, forested mountain parkland, major sports fields, golf courses, bicycle and walking trails.

Your background includes:
    •Current registration with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC (CSHBC) including applicable College certification(s)
