SolidWorks Manufacturing Engineer/Estimator: Harvey 1965


We are a company located in Surrey, who specializes in the design and manufacturing of various steel products, for industries requiring conveying solutions. We provide a complete line of standard products, as well as custom designed products. Quick response and professional presentation to customer requests, is essential, to be successful in our business.  

  • Successful candidate will be experienced with working with SolidWorks, and have previous working experience with manufacturing, and engineering.
  • They will have to work closely with Sales Staff.
  • They will determine the most efficient manufacturing process, and they will estimate special customer requests as required, using company database and extensive production history.
  • Subcontract requirements will also be sourced, and priced. 
  • Preliminary drawings and sketches will be prepared, as required to estimate, or for presentation to customer.
  • Successful quotations will be processed into jobs, and forwarded to production.
  •  Purchase orders will be placed for all subcontract requirements. 
  •  Supporting drawings, and sketches, will be created and attached to jobs for production.

 
Job Requirements:

 Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.

  • Good knowledge of engineering principles.

  • Strong mathematical aptitude.

  • Proficient in estimating skills, with estimating and business application software.

  • Minimum of 3 years of SolidWorks, and AutoCAD, working experience.

  • Experience with ERP Systems, and the maintenance and creation of BOM’s.

  • Proficiency with all mainstream computer applications, including and not limited to Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook.

  • Strong oral and verbal communication skills, and the ability to deal with vendors.

  • Ability to be liaison between sales department and production.

  • Organizational skills and initiative are important.

 

This is a fulltime position

Salary is open depending on experience
