Dataflux team is looking for a passionate, results-oriented, innovative software development manager to work on large-scale data integration and migration platform at Amazon. The candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands how to deal with large-scale data integration systems and help us deliver on a new generation of software. The candidate is passionate about technology and wants to be involved with real business problems.

Dataflux is a highly scalable and distributed data integration and migration platform that is core to Amazon's eCommerce business and its growth. Amazon's eCommerce teams needing to migrate to new database technologies such as DynamoDB use Dataflux to move their data at runtime with speed and accuracy. Teams needing to run business analytics on their operational data, use Dataflux to integrate with Amazon's data warehouse and BI systems.

As a Software Development Manager on the Dataflux team, you will lead a team of engineers to solve complex, mission critical data integration problems throughout the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing and operations. You must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be self-driven and deliver high quality results in a fast-paced environment. You need to enjoy working closely in a group of highly talented engineers and managers.
As the leader in the Dataflux Developer Experience team, you will help pioneer new ways to discover, develop, test and deploy business logic, provide mechanisms to enable easy reuse, establish governance and costing models. You will have an opportunity to build a new team from scratch, and establish its charter, goals, and success criteria. You will interact with many Amazon businesses including Ordering, AWS, Merchant Technologies, and of course, our Retail business.

Basic Qualifications

    •Experience managing teams, building processes, project management, and release schedules
    •Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
    •5+ years of relevant engineering experience
    •2+ years people management experience

Preferred Qualifications

    •Strong business and technical vision
    •A deep understanding of software development in a team, and a track record of shipping software on time
    •Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions
    •Excellent problem-solving skills
    •Master's degree in Computer Science
    •Prior experience as a software developer
