If you answered yes to both the questions, then we would like to talk to you about the Software Development Manager position for the Amazon Payments Issuance Team.
We are responsible for developing the platform and applications used to introduce new and innovative payment methods to customers as well as support Amazon's global CoBrand and Private Label credit cards along with the world's largest rewards catalog, Shop with Points. The technology we build and operate varies widely, ranging from large scale Distributed Engineering incorporating the latest from Machine Learning in the Big Data space to customer and mobile friendly User Experiences. We are an agile team, moving quickly in collaboration with our business to bring new features to millions of Amazon customers while having fun and filing new inventions along the way.
You will coordinate the establishment and execution of long-term architectural roadmaps for a very technical and scalable area. You will drive continual improvements to the efficiency and flexibility of the platform while keeping a high bar for security and availability. This position requires making the platform available to a wide range of internal and external partners, while keeping the technology itself decoupled.

You will run an Agile team of strong technical engineers, and have multiple stakeholders across Amazon and externally. You will also drive strategic planning, project execution, development of engineering talent, and continue to operate and improve what is already a stable and high performing platform.

Basic Qualifications • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, or equivalent.
• 5+ years experience planning, designing, developing and delivering software.
• 2+ years experience as a People Manager in a software development organization.
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux, C++ or Java, OO and Service Oriented Architecture.

Preferred Qualifications • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
• Experience designing and developing large scale, high traffic applications.
• Experience managing projects and teams in an Agile environment.
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
A deep understanding of software development in a team, and a track record of shipping software on time
