Amazon is seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead a team that will expand and improve the Amazon Prime delivery experience. Core to Amazon's leading membership and loyalty program, this team and its software impacts tens of millions of customers and a significant component of Amazon's bottom line.
As a leader, you will be responsible for:
•Launching new features and benefits for Amazon Prime and other delivery programs worldwide •Defining and measuring against and expanding fitness functions for the profitability and customer experience quality of Prime's catalog offering •Inventing technologies and processes that tune and optimize Prime to these measures •Leading and growing a team of industry-leading software development engineers covering a range of technical disciplines
You will lead in a fast-paced environment, design and develop new features and systems, launch them, and iterate to incrementally make them better. You will participate in the overall planning, execution, and success of a complex cross-functional team, work closely with product management, hire candidates for technical positions, and develop technical staff. You are an ideal candidate if you have a demonstrated track record of hiring and leading teams of software development engineers to design and deploy highly-scaled, global software systems.
•2+ years of experience managing an Agile team of 5+ software development engineers •7+ years of professional experience in software development •Experience building scalable distributed systems with service oriented architectures •Expert in at least one modern programming language, e.g. Java, C/C++, or C# •Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or 4+ years relevant work experience
•A deep understanding of software engineering practices, object oriented analysis & design, design patterns and algorithms •Experience with telemetry, optimization, and/or machine learning •Demonstrated strong technical judgment in conjunction with passionate customer-focus •Excellent verbal and written communication skills •Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field
