You will contribute to all aspects of the software development lifecycle including design, development, documentation, testing and operations. You have strong computer science credentials, are passionate about Internet technology, are customer-obsessed and have a track record of building quality services. You know how to build and you dive deep into back-end services. You intrinsically use technology to solve problems. You understand the untapped power of utilizing internet technologies and social networking to find the best and the brightest candidates to build Amazon's goal to be the most customer-centric company in the world. You live and breathe data analysis and can succinctly and accurately report your findings. Most importantly, you have a passion for learning and continuous improvement.
•Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or 2+ years relevant work experience
•Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design
•Computer Science fundamentals in data structures
•Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
•Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as C, C++, C#, Java, or Perl
•A good engineer will demonstrate that they can proactively and continually improve their level of knowledge about Amazon's business and relevant technologies, and use this knowledge to deliver high quality, accurate software deliverables.
•Clear, professional communication skills able to contribute to team discussions, knowing when to contribute, when to listen, and when to ask questions.
•Experience developing in a Linux environment.
•Experience with languages such as Ruby, Python, PHP etc. is also useful
