The Amazon Prime Renewal Initiatives team is a startup-mode team within the larger Amazon Prime team, which drives Amazon's hugely successful membership program that provides fast free shipping and free video streaming to millions of Amazon customers worldwide.

In the US, these benefits include two-day shipping benefits on millions of items, unlimited streaming on thousands of videos, access to the Kindle Owners Lending Library, and much much more. The program is experiencing explosive growth and as a result our team is looking to hire top-notch engineers. We are seeking engineers who thrive in an early-stage startup-like environment where features and systems design are still fluid. We are not iterating on an existing space, we are blazing new trails. To succeed, you must have the ability to obsessively target our users' needs with elegant, reliable, high-scale systems work and be prepared to adjust course on the fly. We take agility and rapid iteration seriously. Our work involves customer-facing UI as well as large-scale data analysis, and the design and implementation of production-scale back-end systems.
Engineers interested in this position should have hands-on experience in building dependable, straightforward systems that stand up to crushing scale. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering customer-facing functionality at web scale on Linux, using either Java or Ruby stacks.
•3+ years professional experience in software development
•Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design
•Computer Science fundamentals in data structures
•Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
•Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as C, C++, Java, C#, or Perl
•Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
•Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
•Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
•Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
•Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.
