Are you interested in an opportunity to grow professionally within a positive and progressive culture? Northern Health is seeking a Social Service Assistant to join University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC).

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of a senior position such as a Social Worker, Registered Nurse or designate; the Social Service Assistant provides support services in the admission and discharge of patients/residents/clients and provides on-going social services. Collaborates with other members of the health care team to deliver culturally appropriate health care services.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work:: Days - 08:00 to 15:36, Rotating

Qualfications
• Graduation from a recognized Social Services Worker certificate program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid driver's license

Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
