We arelooking for an experienced Social Media Specialist to communicate our client's brand tothe public. You will be responsible for attracting and engaging with targetedvirtual communities and networks users.

As a successful Social Media Specialist, you will have a solid understanding of how eachsocial media channel works and how to optimize content so that it is engagingon those channels. You are responsible for starting and joining relevantconversations on behalf of the brand. Activities include growing relevantfollowers, engaging with users, promoting products, finding industryinfluencers, publishing timely news, monitoring and responding to brandmentions, staying informed on industry topics, and communicating our corporatemessage. Thegoal is to gradually achieve higher engagement, brand awareness, and websitetraffic by strategically utilizing all relevant social media channels andonline tools.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage all social media channels on a daily basis including butnot limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat and Reddit.
  • Build and execute social media strategies through competitiveresearch, benchmarking, channel selection, messaging and audienceidentification.
  • Create content calendars to stay organized and plancommunications in advance.
  • Generate, edit, share, and publish daily content (text, images,videos, infographics, etc) that builds meaningful connections and encouragescommunity members to engage.
  • Ensure consistent branding of various posts, messages andpublications.
  • Optimize company pages within each platform to increasevisibility, engagement and followers.
  • Monitor, report, and respond to all brand mentions (both taggedand otherwise).
  • Moderate communication and conversations to ensure positiveoutcomes.
  • Risk management ensuring all public activity is compliant withregulations and negative press is avoided.
  • Analyze social channels and website analytics to measure theperformance of social activities.
  • Create detailed reports to indicate growth of social mediachannels over time and ROI.
  • Utilize social media best practices across all social mediaplatforms.
  • Continuous research of cannabis industry, competition, media,regulations, and products.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely posts ofpublic announcements such as press releases, sales, new products, etc.
  • Perform other related duties as requested by the MarketingManager.

  • Requirements

  • Completion of a 3 year post-secondary diploma in Marketing,publishing, communications, or another related field.
  • 2+ years experience working in social media.
  • Strong communication skills in writing, editing, and imageryselection.
  • Analytical skills to measure social performance and ROI.
  • Well organized with advanced knowledge of Canadian social mediaplatforms.
  • Positive attitude, detail oriented, and good multi-taskingskills.
  • Fully proficient in all Microsoft Office applications such asWord, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.
  • Prior knowledge about the cannabis or another highly regulatedindustry (such as tobacco or alcohol) is a plus.
  • Fluency in French is a plus but not mandatory.
