AboutHighland Valley Copper

Highland Valley Copper (HVC) Operationsis Canada's largest open-pit copper mine and molybdenum operation. HVC produces both copper and molybdenum concentrate through autogenous and semi-autogenous grinding and flotation.

Located approximately 17 kilometers west of Logan Lake and about 50 kilometers southwest of Kamloops in British Columbia, the surrounding areas of HVC have an abundant offering of outdoor experiences.

Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Site Change and Training Specialist to join our global business ERP program. Reporting to the Manager, Organizational Change, this role supports North American site readiness by developing and implementing comprehensive change and training plans that leverage functional strategies, assess operational impacts, and equip frontline teams for SAP‑wide and project‑specific transitions. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in change management and training delivery. They show outstanding communication skills and coordinate learning strategies. They facilitate assessments and workshops and ensure team members at all sites get the support needed to embrace new processes and ways of working. The Specialist will also contribute to operational readiness activities by assisting in managing documentation, coordinating schedules, and collaborating with partners, ensuring seamless execution and sustained adoption. Strong relationship‑building skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate site operational challenges are essential to supporting effective implementation and overall program success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Lead change management by crafting and delivering site-level change plans based on functional change plans. Assess impacts on mine site operational teams. Identify affected roles and processes. Ensure readiness actions support a smooth transition to enterprise-wide and initiative-specific SAP implementations.
  • Develop and coordinate training strategies by defining training needs. Align learning materials to SAP processes. Ensure frontline users receive appropriate instruction to confidently adopt new methods.
  • Engage operational leaders and end users to capture feedback on change impacts, address concerns, and ensure the SAP solution aligns with daily operational workflows and readiness requirements.
  • Facilitate collaboration between mine operations, project teams, and SAP functional leads to ensure change management, training, and communication activities are integrated and aligned throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  • Monitor readiness indicators and adoption metrics to evaluate preparedness levels, identify gaps, and implement targeted interventions to support sustained adoption post‑go‑live.
  • Coordinate deployment activities by supporting go‑live planning, managing end-user training execution, and ensuring that all change and communication actions are delivered on time to enable successful SAP rollout across mine sites.
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate change and Training activities including assessments, events, workshops, and training sessions while gathering feedback to continuously improve the onboarding process and enhance the overall collaborator experience at sites.
  • This role will also support Operational Readiness.
  • Assist with documentation, scheduling, and meeting coordination.
  • Support, coordinate and schedule training classes and activities
  • Facilitate communication between collaborators and project teams.
  • Perform tasks and duties assigned by the manager that support the overall program outcome
  • Travel is required to NA sites.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Learning and Development, Business Administration, Organizational Development.
  • 7+ years of background in training and change.
  • Skilled in applying various instructional and transformation methodologies to deliver engaging and impactful benefits.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport and establishing relationships with collaborators at all levels
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously, facilitating smooth implementation and timely delivery
  • Diligent and proactive.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership.
  • Adaptable and flexible to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Collaborative approach with experience working multi-functionally in a large, complex organization.

Pay Range: CAD $93,000 - $115,000 per year

The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
