Reporting to the Director, Simplii Deposits, you will be the driving force behind bringing new money into Simplii and building strong, long-lasting relationships with Simplii clients. You will use your sales experience and product knowledge to speak to both new and existing Simplii clients about opportunities to bring their money to Simplii in the form of deposits, GICs, and Mutual Funds, all while cross-selling Simplii products such as Chequing accounts, credit cards, and mortgages. You will receive leads on existing Simplii clients, and will be expected to generate new business by leveraging their network and actively engaging in their community to find sales opportunities while meeting with new and existing clients based on the client's schedule to review their financial goals and identify areas of opportunity. Once you have identified opportunities, you will partner with other members of the Simplii team to refer the client to the appropriate channel that will enable the clients to reach their financial goals. You will continue to maintain a relationship with the client once onboarded, providing a high touch experience with regular check-ins and warm referrals.

What you'll be doing
  • SFS team members need to be self-motivated to find new business for Simplii by leveraging their extensive sales experience, industry knowledge of deposits and investments, and their relationship-building skills.
  • Promote Simplii products and heighten Simplii brand awareness in your community by initiating local marketing and outreach activities.
  • Leverage strong relationship building and networking skills to build connections, and generate new clients to grow the Simplii business.
  • Develop external business referral sources through networking, marketing, brand-building and your centers of influence.
  • Establish local contacts, and partner with community organizations to grow your network while creating lasting connections that will generate future opportunities
  • Meet with prospective clients when and where the client prefers to identify each client's goals and financial needs, provide high-level advice, do discovery, and make appropriate referrals.
  • Proactively reach out to existing Simplii clients to do financial review, do discovery and bring more business to Simplii
  • Set up regular touchpoints with clients, finding other opportunities to deepen their relationship with Simplii.
  • Provide exceptional financial service to existing clients, and have the flexibility to meet them outside on their schedule.

How you'll succeed
  • Previous proven investment and banking sales experience is required
  • Proven in person and/or telephone/sales experience
  • Strong prospecting ability and a proven track record of working successfully to achieve sales results
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in financial planning
  • Well-developed investment product and industry knowledge and experience with an ability to offer options based on different client situations
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
  • You have current accreditation and good standing Mutual Funds License
  • Proven networking and client acquisition skills
  • Digital Savviness, ability to effectively utilize mobile application.
  • Cultural competency and language fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese is an asset (possibly include South Asian spoken languages)
